AC Coil Cleaning
Evaporator coils capture heat the inside air accumulates leading to occasional AC Coil Cleaning and maintenance servicing to keep your system operating optimally. Condenser coils release captured interior heat into the air around the outside unit. Evaporator coils are typically located within the air handling unit. Condenser coils are usually in your system’s outdoor cabinet. If any of your system’s coils need cleaned, our trained technicians will safely and thoroughly clean them.
When coils become dirty, performance is affected. This often includes issues with air quality since air that’s blowing across dirty coils will likely contain dust, pollen, and other contaminants. Over time, these accumulated materials can affect the performance of your entire system. Dirty coils may also result in:
- Reduced heat transfer
- Increased operating temperatures
- Ice build-up on coils
- Decreased cooling capacity
For light accumulations, a typically cleaning usually involves compressed air. Mild detergents and brushes may be used to remove accumulations that are more substantial. We’ll use heavy-duty cleaning techniques and equipment for coils that are heavily soiled to safely and fully get the coils cleaned and back to optimal efficiency.
As far as how often to have your coils cleaned, monthly cleaning may be required if your coils are prone to getting dirty.
